- Basic IT literacy skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Basic machining knowledge advantages but not essential as full training will be given.
- Basic knowledge of materials and machining techniques.
- Sectioning components received into the laboratory using abrasive cutting machines and prepare samples using automated and manual polishing techniques.
- Work to documented procedures in accordance with required specifications for materials testing and analysis.
- Marking up of components from client drawings / schematics ready for sectioning.
- Ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
- Working in a fast-paced environment you will need to manage personal workloads to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and within targets.
- Ensure equipment is well maintained and reporting faults to senior personnel.
- Work with experienced members of the team to develop improvements in sample preparation techniques.
- Maintain and order stock for the preparation area.
- Maintain 5S and HSE checks for the sample preparation area.
