In this brand-new role, the Director, Digital Content will play a pivotal leadership role in the planning and delivery of Hasbro’s growing digital content slate – supporting the VP in content strategy, production design and overseeing the team’s production management and post-production operations. This is a multi-faceted role requiring a candidate with a broad skillset – combining a strong understanding of leveraging data and insights to drive content strategy decisions, production for digital platforms, appreciation of high quality creative, with a deep knowledge of building agile, innovative animated and live action pipelines.Key Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with the VP, working cross-functionally to define and refine insights-led digital content strategies by brand based on brief and requirements from brand management, digital distribution, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Building and presenting compelling pitches to achieve consensus and buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Overseeing production design for new projects – leveraging (and expanding as required) global production network to ensure productions can be executed as efficaciously as possible whilst ensuring excellence in creative execution – including identifying opportunities for incorporation of innovation and AI-driven processes where relevant; proactively looking into new technologies and production incentives.
  • Producing production budgets and schedules in partnership with VP, production management and production finance; managing the transition of projects into production post-greenlight including partnering with BLA on production agreements.
  • Overseeing the production management function - instituting organizational and pipeline best practices to ensure smooth delivery of series; pro-actively identifying and solving issues or areas of improvement across pipelines.
  • Overseeing the post-production function – ensuring team is resourced and equipped to deliver on slate commitments efficiently and in an agile manner; is producing content of a high creative quality; and is outputting content to the technical specifications required from each production.
  • Leading relationship with production finance on live productions – ensuring production cost reporting and staff chargebacks are correct and up to date.
  • Supporting the VP in the preparation of materials for the production greenlight process; partnering with Digital Distribution team to ensure KPIs and distribution dates and received and agreed.
  • Working closely with Digital Distribution and Entertainment Analytics to ensure content decisions are data-informed, content performance is fed back into production. Constantly striving for data-driven improvements to our content and empowering teams to do the same.
  • Ability to spot trends and understand what’s working in the industry to identify new opportunities for our brands.
  • Playing a key role in team communications and stakeholder management; representing the function at meetings, both internal and external; owning relationships with BLA and finance teams in partnership with VP; able to confidently update on project status, departmental and industry issues.
  • Exercising high degree of autonomy in the delivery of all responsibilities
Key Competencies:
  • Experience of producing digital content for kids’ brands
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to a high standard.
  • Diplomacy skills, with the ability to sell-in new ideas to multiple stakeholders.
  • A passion for kid’s media and digital production
  • Good knowledge of online digital platforms – to ensure our content is suited for FVOD, AVOD and SVOD distribution.
  • Strategic way of thinking – to take risks, but also to know when to cut projects short if they no longer fulfil business objectives.
