The Role:We have a great new opportunity to join a recently created Integration Team to provide specialist technical expertise across a breadth of technology platforms.The position will lead on projects and tasks, across both physical infrastructure and cloud services, working as part of a team, to ensure that issues are resolved swiftly, technical challenges are addressed, and project actions are delivered on time and services and data remain stable and highly available. The position will also mentor and develop less experienced colleagues in the team.The team will be tasked to Provide IT solutions for Teaching, Research and Professional services. Using a cloud preferred methodology and selecting the most appropriate technologies for the business. Managing services both on-premises and within cloud technologies.Digital Support Tasks:
  • Responding to requests and incidents with professionalism and timeliness to meet SLA objectives of the department.
  • Solving technically complex challenges through use of knowledge and working with support teams.
  • Working with third party vendors and suppliers to deliver cohesive technical solutions.
  • Applying expertise to issues to ensure first time resolutions are applied where possible or escalated for additional support.
  • Documenting solutions clearly and accurately to a consistent standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability for data.
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of business continuity are factored into solutions and maintained during the solutions lifecycle.
  • Monitoring of systems and reacting to alerts and abnormal behaviour.
Improving IT Outputs:
  • Identifying repeating or common issues, proposing, and implementing solutions to root cause fixes.
  • Leading on managing risks around Lifecycle management of systems and services supported by the team.
  • Managing capacity and forecasting, to inform the 5-year planning cycle ensuring services are fit for purpose.
  • Promote standardised solutions, with a view to optimise and expand services where appropriate.
  • Automation and Orchestration to improve request fulfilment and incident response.
Specialist Technical Expertise:Responsible for technical solutions, escalated / complex technical problems, documentation, and improvement. Sharing industry insight to make forward thinking technical decisions.Design, implementation, and configuration of Integration methods.Managing Integration platforms (such as Azure Integration Services).Requirements:
  • This position requires a proficient level of technical expertise, combined with the ability to communicate and advise effectively to non-technical internal customers.
  • Degree Level Education in a relevant subject
  • Hold a professional qualification in ITIL Foundation
  • Ideally have 3 years plus industry experience of working as an Integration Engineer within a medium to large sized organisation.
  • Have good expertise and experience with Azure Integration Services (AIS), Logic Apps, Function Apps, Data Factory, API Management and C# Development.
