- Certificate IV or higher in Horticulture
- Demonstrated high level of experience in horticultural maintenance and development using a range of horticultural plant and equipment
- 3 years experience in related field
- Ensure that all land preparations are done as per established procedures.
- Ensure that all material inputs are adequate for respective operations
- Ensure the safe use of chemicals, fertilizer and biological controls when storing, mixing, transporting, and application
- Assist with all harvesting and seeding activities
- Ensure the upkeep of all tractors and implements
- Liaise with Farm Operation Manager / Agronomist/ Maintenance Manager where required
- Operate various tractors and implements
- Work closely with relevant team members and senior management to achieve best practice for pest and disease management
- Irrigation repairs and maintenance and watering
- Harvest, washing and packing of produce
- Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
- Coordinate horticultural crop harvesting
- Fumigate soil
- Manage, install drainage systems
- Monitor and manage nursery plants
- Operate spreading and seeding equipment
- Sound knowledge of plant nutrition.
- Ability to identify pest and disease symptoms.
- Knowledge of chemicals, fertilizers, green crops and biological products
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of equipment.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Passion for blueberry farming and dedication to producing high-quality crops
- Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised
