Description and requirementsSkanska, one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, is aninclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.We are looking for a Senior Project Accountant on an 18 month FTC to provide financial governance, support, and advice to enable strong reporting and accuracy of financial information for the Operating Unit. The role will support project performance channelled through an excellent service delivery to the wider Operating Unit.What you'll do:
  • Assist and support the Senior/Finance Business Partner with development and management of the Operating Unit Finance team
  • Timely production of accurate insightful monthly management accounts in accordance with Skanska internal and International accounting policies
  • Management of the Operating Unit's results against forecasts and provide variance analysis for leadership team review
  • Preparation, key support, analysis and coordination of the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycle. Production of reporting pack for submission to MD and SFBP.
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations and identification of potential risks/opportunities
  • Ensure financial processes/controls are adhered to and to identify/implement improvements in processes and systems as appropriate
  • Review and challenge Project Financials at Forecast & Review meetings, working alongside the Project teams to drive the best performance
  • Application of commercial understanding to drive project profitability
  • Overview and review of VAT returns, PSA and other tax returns (with Accountant)
  • Oversee the control recharges to contracts (and JVs where applicable)
  • Ensure the JV process with other operating units runs smoothly with good oversight
  • Manage the interim and year-end audit process working with External Auditors
  • Provide year end statutory and other information to Group Finance
What you'll bring to the role:
  • ERP system knowledge, Oracle Fusion preferable
  • Accountancy professional qualification - CIMA/ACCA
  • A thorough and up-to-date knowledge of financial and management accounting practices and experience of practical application of this in an ERP environment
