The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) provides clinical psychosocial services and case management for the WPRCI patients and families in our outpatient clinical areas. Services include but are not limited to: initial psychosocial assessment with new patients; ongoing psychosocial assessment as needed during treatment process; development of treatment plans/interventions; coordination with inpatient Care Management/medical staff; advocacy for patient/family with healthcare providers and community resources; patient/family education, information and referrals; assistance with financial/social needs related to housing, transportation, food, medications, and access to treatment/clinical trials; interdisciplinary team coordination/communication; and assistance with mental health issues and emotional adjustment to illness, including emotional support, psychotherapy (individual, group, family, couples, children), crisis intervention, and grief counseling. Participates in program development under the supervision of LCSW staff. Participates in supervision process with LCSW toward obtaining LCSW.LCSW I -
Serves within multidisciplinary team to provide clinical psychosocial services for patients in the UAMS Cancer Service Line to include: initial psychosocial assessment with new patients; ongoing psychosocial assessment as needed during treatment process and beyond; development of treatment plans/interventions that are documented in the EMR; response to emotional components of illness, including adjustment to illness and grief counseling, psychotherapy (individual, couples, family, children), and crisis intervention. Provides direct counseling and education to patients/families regarding financial/social support to insure completion of treatment and access to clinical trials. Develops programs that offer specialty care to support them through the continuum of cancer treatment. Supervises graduate interns through their field experience and final requirements for graduation. Serves as liaison with other departments/agencies, both internal and external. Models positive collaboration/interaction with colleagues, management team, and other UAMS departments. Periodic travel and evening work may be requiredLCSW II -
