With all our product offerings we are currently serving 182,000+ customers internationally.We enable success for small businesses.The Senior Engineer Role:We're seeking a dedicated Senior Engineer to contribute to a critical business domain of expense mgt. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic product squad, directly impacting our expansion across European markets. You will be a key individual contributor within your squad, focusing on delivering high-quality, impactful code. You'll address complex domain-specific challenges, ensuring that our products evolve to meet the needs of freelancers and micro businesses.You'll collaborate closely with Staff Engineers and report to an Engineering Manager, contributing to the squad's success through your technical expertise and hands-on approach.Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality code consistently, and implement critical features within your squad.
Collaborate within and cross-teams on designing and implementing features and service integrations.
Break down and understand complex problems within the squad's domain, propose and implement secure and scalable solutions with a strong focus on data consistency.
Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in best practices and code excellence.

Requirements:

Advanced PHP Expertise: Minimum of 4 years of experience with PHP, including PHP 8, proficient in either Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
MySQL Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of MySQL, with a focus on designing optimal DB structures to enhance performance.
Best Programming Practices: Practical knowledge of key programming principles and design patterns, such as SOLID, KISS, DRY, and others.
Unit Testing Enthusiast: Demonstrated experience and keen interest in writing unit tests, proficient with PHPUnit. This includes a commitment to maintaining high-quality code standards.
Project Ownership and Management Skills: Ability to take complete ownership of personal projects, combined with a proactive approach to task management and readiness to ask critical questions for successful execution and delivery.
Code Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail and precision in writing and maintaining code, with practical skills in code refactoring techniques and managing technical debt.
Critical Code Review Skills: Ability to conduct thorough code reviews and provide insightful feedback.
Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.

Nice to have:

Domain-Driven Design: Practical knowledge and application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to effectively solve complex business problems.
Understanding and experience in cloud solutions, specifically AWS.
Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting-related issues, beneficial but not essential.
