-Report directly to the DMUPosteAs a Business Development Manager for Western Europe, the primary focus is on driving sales growth in the region, particularly for couplings. The main objective is to increase turnover in line with established sales targets. This entails developing and implementing effective sales channels, establishing direct relationships with large OEMs and end-users, and managing a distributor network for smaller OEMs and end-users. Additionally, identifying market development opportunities and collaborating with engineering and production departments for new product introductions is a key aspect of the role. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include sales of mechanical products currently managed by a sister company. You would be reporting directly to the Business Unit Director for industrial and rail products, as this role is pivotal in fostering growth and expansion within the European market.Key Responsibilities:1) Develop and manage OEM/end-user portfolio in Europe for both rail and general industry product lines:-Identify potential customers and conduct comprehensive research on their business and equipment needs
-Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing clients
-Conduct visits to prospects and existing customers
-Present product portfolio to potential customers
-Collaborate closely with internal sales department for efficient customer follow-up
-Manage quote follow-ups and communicate customers' next steps/actions
-Organize after-sales activities, including field trips and handling complaints
-Maintain sales systems in compliance with established policies2) Establish and manage distribution network for gear/disc couplings in Europe:-Develop potential business partners into partner distributors
-Communicate sales strategy and targets to distributors
-Monitor and evaluate channel performance
-Provide marketing and training support to distributors
-Facilitate knowledge transfer and communication between distributors3)Identify product development/improvement opportunities and drive new product introductions:-Conduct market research through trade fairs and competitive benchmarking
-Identify opportunities for product development or improvement
-Develop marketing plans for new products
-Collaborate with engineering and production departments to launch new product initiatives4) Propose and lead improvement projects in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.ProfilEducation:-Bachelor's/master's degree in science, management, or equivalent through relevant experienceLanguages:-Proficient in English (both written and verbal)Knowledge/Experience:-Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a business development manager
-Experience with international sales
-You're living in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany or France.
