- Take clinical responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients presenting with a wide range of mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders.
- Provide evidence-based psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and psychosocial interventions, tailored to the individual needs and preferences of patients.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical supervision sessions to ensure holistic and coordinated care delivery, adherence to clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Offer mentorship, support, and clinical supervision to junior medical staff, including Specialty Registrars, Core Trainees, and Foundation Year doctors, fostering their professional development and clinical competency.
- Contribute to service development and improvement projects, research endeavors, and teaching activities within the psychiatric department to enhance clinical practice and promote innovation in mental healthcare delivery.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attendance at conferences, seminars, and training programs, to stay abreast of advancements in the field of psychiatry and maintain GMC revalidation requirements.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry.
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Psychiatry or equivalent, with extensive experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
- Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a broad range of mental health disorders in adult patients.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with patients and families.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care, promoting recovery-oriented practice, and ensuring adherence to clinical governance and regulatory standards.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to relocate if necessary.
