Our products are known for their technical strength, proven reliability and overall value.About the OpportunityThe Elyria Site (Lear Romec Brand) offers the most reliable positive displacement pumps in the industry consisting of vane, gerotor, and spur gear configurations. Products include lube and scavenge pumps that are ETOPS rated; high contamination resistance gerotor pumps for oil applications; high pressure spur gear pumps; centrifugal fuel pumps and centrifugal coolant pumps. Our pumps are used on many General Aviation, business jet, commercial transport, and military aircraft applications.We need a talented individual in our Fluid Management Group at our Elyria, OH facility to fill the role of a Quality Engineer III/IV (level will depend on experience).Position Overview:The Quality Engineer uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.Essential Job Functions:Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and CustomersCollect and analyze production data to evaluate product qualityConduct root cause analysis and recommends corrective actionsStop production if serious product defects are presentMonitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiencyInstruct others in quality control and analytical proceduresProduce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trendsReview statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality controlIdentify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling proceduresDrive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are acceptedSupport audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer AuditorsProvide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as requiredReview and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), deviations, etc.Any other task assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.4+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an aerospace environment or similar manufacturing settingPrefer CQE, CQA, CQM or other similar quality certification through ASQMicrosoft Office Products Software (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook)Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience a plusGood oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information, write reports and process instructions, and provide support to various functional groups within Lear RomecAssess, trouble shoot, and support the resolution of technical problems in a timely, cost effective mannerEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
