  • Employees in this position work in a cell environment with various aircraft parts
  • Performing installation and assembly of various details and assemblies (e.g., brackets, sensors, grease fittings, bushings) per drawing specifications
  • Employment in this position also requires bending and twisting at the waist, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, use of low and high impact vibratory tools, walking, standing, finger manipulation, contact with metals, exposure to noise and atmospheric conditions, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, hand/arm, ears and feet
  • Obtain work assignments from bar chart, (WO) Work Order, supervisor or other accepted shop procedures
  • Schedule and priority determine work sequence
  • Use personal computer to obtain information (e.g., drawings, specifications, (DCAC) Design Configuration and Control), as required
  • Work with expediters and shop clerks to maintain inventory of perishable items in shop supply storage area, as required
  • Ensure proper tooling is in inventory to complete scheduled work assignments, as required
  • Perform routine maintenance on hand and power tools (e.g., lubrication, visible defects, certification in date), as required
  • Select proper tooling (e.g., holding fixtures, drill motors, reamers) to perform work (e.g., spot facing, swedging, deburring) on parts/assemblies, as required
  • Use mathematical formulas to verify locations of holes to ensure work is within specifications, as required
  • Prepare edges and blend surfaces as required for shotpeen as well as shotpeen / rotopeen parts
  • Perform drilling/reaming operations using power tools (e.g., drill motors, Quackenbush tool, cleco motors), mounted on tabletops, as required
  • Perform assembly of various parts using hand tools (e.g., wrenches, sockets, hammers, drifts), as required
  • Perform cold work process on holes
  • Shrink fit and install bushings using (LN2) Liquid Nitrogen per BAC specifications
  • Perform certification work (e.g., surface/fay seal (e.g., BMS 5-95), prepack, fillet), on bushings/bearings and other part installations per specification requirements
  • Touch up surface defects on parts using Alodine and Primer to prevent corrosion to meet drawing requirements, as required
  • Perform honing/reaming operations on various metals (e.g., Aluminum, Beryllium/Cobalt, Stainless Steel), as required
  • Use (PME) Precision Measuring Equipment (e.g., dial bore gauge, micrometer, profilometer) to ensure parts/assemblies are within specification
  • Ensure fastener is torqued to proper specification using calibrated torque wrench, as required
  • Ensure parts are grounded together properly by performing bonding checks on completed assemblies with Biddle meter, as required
  • Work with QA to write rejection tags on failed vendor parts and other discrepancies found during assembly, as required
  • Move parts into and out of area using overhead crane, as required
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous material in approved manner per (MSDS) Material Specification Data Sheets, as required
  • Wear (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment in shop area, as required
  • Maintain personal certifications (e.g., bond and ground, eye, shotpeen, crane handling, fay/seal), as required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):3+ years' experience with aircraft assembly processExperience reading and interpreting assembly instructions of drawingsMust have Basic computer skillsMust be able to lift up to 35 poundsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):High School diploma or GEDTypical Education:High school diploma or GED preferred.Relocation:This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
