Exciting Opportunity for a Tech Food Teacher in Levenshulme!Are you a creative and passionate Tech Food Teacher looking for an inspiring role? Teaching Personnel is delighted to present a full-time position for a Tech Food Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.Role Overview:As a Tech Food Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach students practical skills in food technology, nutrition, and culinary arts. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Tech Food lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students develop essential cooking techniques, food hygiene practices, and an appreciation for healthy eating.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Tech Food lessons covering a variety of topics, including cooking methods, recipe development, food preparation, and nutrition, inspiring students to develop their culinary skills and creativity.Practical Cooking: Lead practical cooking sessions in the school kitchen, guiding students in preparing and cooking a range of dishes while promoting safe food handling practices and kitchen hygiene.Nutritional Education: Educate students about the importance of nutrition, balanced diets, and healthy eating habits, empowering them to make informed choices about their food intake and dietary habits.Food Technology: Introduce students to food technology concepts and processes, such as food preservation, packaging, and food product development, fostering their understanding of the food industry and technological innovations.Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student practical skills and knowledge through practical demonstrations, food tasting sessions, and written assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and supportive learning environment in the kitchen, implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote teamwork, respect, and responsibility.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Design and Technology department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.Ideal Candidate:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Food Technology, Home Economics, or related field.Strong practical skills and knowledge in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.Previous experience teaching Tech Food or Home Economics at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.Enthusiasm for teaching practical skills and promoting healthy eating habits among students.Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment in the kitchen.Salary and Benefits:Competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.Supportive and collaborative working environment within an Ofsted Good secondary school.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated Tech Food Teacher to inspire and empower students through practical learning experiences in the kitchen.
