- The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant is a special one! You will be providing direct support and assistance to the students in the classroom.
- These students struggle with additional needs that include autism, ADHD, OCD, school avoidance, stress and anxiety.
- You will provide assistance in either 1 to 1 settings or in small groups.
- You will provide interventions that will help support the children and teach them healthy ways to cope and regulate their emotions.
- You will also be involved and help with the general running's of the classroom.
- This will include helping the class teacher with setting up of lessons, helping to prepare the lessons, keep the classroom a tidy and inviting environment, help with general supervision and manage general classroom behavior.
- The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be kind, compassionate and have a passion for helping children.
- You will be up for a challenge and not only proactive but also take initiative.
- Many of the children that attend this school have education and health care plans so you must be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the children.
- You must have eligibility to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorships.
- You must also have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
