Management AccountantApotheCom is an exciting leader in the field of medical communications. Drawn together from several backgrounds including the pharmaceutical industry, research, marketing, medical and regulatory writing, sales, publishing, digital media and design, we have the experience and all-round ability to conceive and deliver the best quality medical communications programs.As part of the ApotheCom Finance team, the Management Accountant assists the Group Reporting Manager in preparing monthly management accounts, to ensure the Company's financial transactions are recorded accurately and provides detailed monthly analysis of profit and loss and balance sheet items.Key responsibilities in this role include:
  • Reviewing overhead expense accounts and preparing month end journal entries for accruals.
  • Preparing detailed month end analysis of profit and loss overhead expenses with checks to trial balance. Including general review of accounts for mis postings and preparation of correction journals where necessary.
  • Liaising with external accountants for monthly reporting for non-US/UK geographies (South Africa, Greece, Japan).
  • Preparing monthly management information reports for the business leadership.
  • Assisting with loading information to Group reporting system, Oracle EPM and Oracle FCCS.
  • Ownership of weekly management reporting.
  • Assisting with preparation of financial statements and inputs for tax return for non-US/UK geographies managed within the team.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Previous work experience within a Finance Team.
  • Part qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Good understanding of debits and credits, coupled with experience in balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the functions of an integrated accounting system.
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Word and Excel (intermediate level or above) and accounting software. Experience with Maconomy or Oracle is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative with a pro-active approach to problem solving and process improvement.
  • A strong team player with a collaborative approach to work
  • Excellent relationship building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong time management skills, with experience of managing multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Previous audit experience is desirable.
