- Carry out electrical installation work efficiently, ensuring work installed is compliant with the National Working Rules for Electrical Contacting Industry and other relevant legislations.
- Ensure all work is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to yourself or others.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand/power tools.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, and diagrams.
- Glanding and terminating to circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical apparatus components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical faults or issues and making necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and professionals, such as engineers and project managers, to complete projects successfully.
- Undertake training as required to maintain or develop competency levels.
- Must have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had practical training in electrical installation work.
- Must have obtained an NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work or equivalent.
- Must have had experience working as an Electrician.
- Communications skills, ability to interact with other skilled trade professionals, designers, and clients.
- Knowledge of national and local building codes.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines and complete tasks within the allotted time frame.
- Attention to detail is vital to ensure high-quality standards and compliance to regulations.
- Travel may be necessary.
