- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with the maintenance and administration of Linux-based servers and systems.
- Learn and implement security best practices to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
- Monitor and respond to alerts related to system performance, network connectivity, and cybersecurity incidents.
- Collaborate with the IT team to resolve escalated technical issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of IT infrastructure and equipment.
- Learn and apply networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Strong interest in IT support and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.) is desirable.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Knowledge or interest in cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- A-levels or equivalent qualifications are desirable, but not mandatory. Relevant coursework or self-study in IT-related subjects would be advantageous.
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
- Hands-on experience and training in Linux administration, server maintenance, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced IT professionals.
