What you'll learn - Till/Cash handling/credit card training - Merchandising - Window Dressing - Time management - Customer care - Communication skills - Teamwork - Adaptability/Problem Solving What you'll do - Maintain operational standards that are consistent with shops operating procedures. - Ensure that any interaction with customers is carried out in a manner that is courteous and professional. - Maintain accurate records of all sales and payments and to ensure that agreed procedures regarding cash handling and security are observed at all times. - Maintain a safe environment for customers, volunteers and staff and where appropriate to immediately report to the Shop Manager/Area Manager any hazard that puts the safety of customers, volunteers or staff at risk. - Ensure that agreed stock management procedures are observed and that merchandising and window display opportunities are maximised at all times. - Act as a contact point for existing and potential service users and donors, to promote Society services and to support major Society fundraising initiatives. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Informal Training: - Till/Cash handling/credit card training - Merchandising - Window Dressing - Time management - Customer care - Communication skills - Teamwork - Adaptability/Problem Solving Formal: WPEP QQI Work Experience module and will be supported in any other certified training required.
