These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.About the Payroll function and the RoleWe have an exciting vacancy for a talented and experienced payroll individual to join our payroll department located within the HR Shared Service function. Your will be part of a collaborative team that are pro-active and driven with a “can do” attitude. The team operate with a personal and friendly approach to ensure the employee lifecycle function associated with payroll is a positive experience.The successful candidate will be adaptable to change and have the skills and abilities “to hit the ground running”. Previous experience of working in a fast paced, multi complex and large volume payroll department who enjoys working collaboratively with their colleagues then this role is for you.Responsibilities:Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager, you would be assisting in the delivery of full end to end payroll processing
  • Processing various pay frequency payrolls in accordance with overtime and company absence policies for over 7000 UK employees.
  • Processing starters and leavers with ADP IHCM payroll system.
  • Inputting of all variable data including, bonuses, commissions, overtime within payroll and HR deadlines
  • Auditing of all changes to the payroll/HR system.
  • Monitoring and administering employee benefits including Childcare Vouchers, Cycle to work and Tech schemes to ensure that all deductions are correct and reconciled for fast and efficient payments to the scheme provider.
  • Strong working knowledge of Statutory deductions including Parental leave, SSP and AEO's
  • Ensuring all PAYE liabilities are met in accordance with HMRC guidelines
  • Previous experience in the recovery of Overpayments for current and former staff
  • Ensuring the shared mailboxes are maintained and responded too in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the production of regular and ad-hoc output reports to confirm and validate the accuracy of the payroll data
  • Liaising with the wider business to actively encourage professional relationships
  • Actively participate in payroll projects to develop wider learning of payroll and business policies
  • Keeping up to date with legislative, regulatory requirements and ensuring that they are met
Requirements:
  • 3+ years end to end payroll experience
  • Experience with manual calculations
  • Strong computer skills and confident in use of Excel to include V-Lookups and pivot tables
  • Highly numerate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Can adapt well to changes and updates within the business
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement within a Shared Service environment
