Headquartered in San Diego, California, with additional offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, the company employs over 8,000 people worldwide.A Lab support technician plays a critical role in the smooth operation and expansion of Dexcom labs by overseeing the management and administration of infrastructure used for testing and validation of our products. The Lab support Tech ensures that our test infrastructure is built to scales operations and expand Dexcom’s test capability across all product lines.Where you come in:
  • Be the on-site person for Lab maintenance and support to ensure the infrastructure is usable remotely by all teams
  • Set-up of PCs and Mac machines in the lab with standardized images and security patches
  • Work with IT on to ensure connectivity in the lab at all times
  • Set-up/assemble racks of machines/servers and update HW as needed for test and validation
  • Work with the Test and Development teams to purchase test equipment (Switches, phones, Macs, USB cables etc.) and get it shipped to DXCM
  • Build/maintain and allocate VMs to scale test infrastructure and make it available to team
  • Ensure that all lab activities comply with safety regulations, protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Collect debug logs and work with IT team as needed to ensure proper network connectivity in the lab at all times
  • Install automation tools to collect data and monitor stats for the lab
  • Use lab mgmt SW to take inventory and track the health of lab devices
  • Collaborate with other teams to standardize lab management tools
  • Keep detailed records of inventory purchases to shipped to teams
  • Document the lab layout and usage, processes, device info etc. so that it's easily accessible to all test engineers
What makes you successful:
  • Must have 3+ years of experience building and maintaining an engineering lab
  • You must have experience in racking up servers, cabling/labeling, building and maintaining an engineering labs with test fixtures
  • Hands-on experience working with Windows and Mac Operating systems, taking snapshots/back-ups, updating security patches etc.
  • Good understanding of lab administration tasks, well versed with lab/infra management tools and procedures
  • Experience managing inventory of assets and labeling/tracking etc.
  • Experience in setting up, using, managing and configuring VMs for multiple users
  • Experience in Implementing safety measures and providing training to lab personnel. Maintain records of safety inspections and incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic experience or exposure to shell scripting or Python
  • Experience using Excel, Power-point, Word etc. for documentation

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.
