- Leading and managing a team of engineers, technicians, and other staff involved in engineering activities. This involves hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Planning, organizing, and overseeing engineering projects related to the production process, including the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of machinery and equipment.
- Developing and managing budgets for engineering projects and operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in resource utilization.
- Implementing and managing preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous operation of machinery and equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Ensuring that engineering processes and equipment meet quality and safety standards required for food and drink production, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization and improvement in equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to procure machinery, parts, and services required for engineering operations, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Working closely with other departments such as production, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of engineering activities with overall business objectives.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices through ongoing learning and professional development activities.
- Time served Engineer NVQ/Guilds qualified – essential
- Track record in Production – essential
- Qualifications in IOSH/NEBOSH preferred but not essential
- Electrical qualification – Preferred but not essential – Mechanically biased
