- Previous experience in a similar role is essential (min 5 years)
- Fluent in English language, both verbal and written
- Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a masters, NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma is essential
- Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other legislation relevant to a manufacturing organisation
- Previous experience directly managing a team or people is desirable
- Previous experience with Mental Health and related best practices is desired
- Self-motivated and able to manage workload and schedule independently
- Ability to work in a high-paced manufacturing environment with a dynamic team
- Hands-on approach with strong emotional intelligence and engagement skills
- Ability to interact at all levels of an organisation
- Professional approach to dealing with issues and employees.
- Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with keen attention-to-detail and a methodical approach.
- Ability to manage and prioritise several projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills, and in-depth knowledge of problem-solving tools and root-causation techniques such as 5-WHY, ISHIKAWA, A3, etc.
- Good presentation skills, including use of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A degree of flexibility in working hours as occasional work supporting factory shift patterns may be required.
