Our client is seeking an experienced and Strategic Director of Employee Relations to join their world-class manufacturing operations in Thailand. This role demands a seasoned professional with a robust background in union management, stakeholder engagement, and general service management within large-scale businesses. The ideal candidate will be a strategic decision-maker with exceptional skills in communication, negotiation, and a thorough understanding of labor laws.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Employee Relations strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Employee Relations team, ensuring effective management of labor relations and employee engagement initiatives.
Labor Union Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for labor unions, fostering constructive relationships and facilitating negotiations.
  • Lead collective bargaining processes, ensuring agreements align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
  • Address and resolve labor disputes, grievances, and other union-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
General Service Management:
  • Oversee general services operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Implement best practices in service management to support the overall operational needs of the business.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, employees, labor unions, and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for Employee Relations initiatives.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all Employee Relations practices comply with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to labor relations and general service management.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations, ensuring the company's practices remain compliant.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Employee Relations team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Employee Relations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in managing labor unions, collective bargaining, and resolving labor disputes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Thai labor laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
