- Research, teaching, and service activities consistent with faculty evaluation criteria and the missions of the department, college, and university;
- Direct and/or indirect supervision and retention of outstanding, productive, and diversified faculty and staff;
- Leadership in academic governance, including the collaborative development of appropriate policies and procedures regarding: reappointment, promotion, and tenure; leaves; long-range planning; curriculum development; program review; distribution and utilization of resources, etc.;
- Management and oversight of the department’s budget (all funds), class schedules, course offerings, teaching assignments, and faculty/staff professional development;
- Ongoing collaboration with the UC Speech and Hearing Clinic to develop, implement, and grow clinical programs to foster student success;
- Partnerships with the CAHS Dean and Associate Dean of Research to carry out the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the department, college, and university;
- Commitment to upholding the University of Cincinnati's Next Lives Here initiative of academic excellence, innovation, and urban impact;
- Adherence to national CSD accreditation standards and regulations;

- An earned doctoral degree in speech-language pathology, audiology, or related field
- An established record of research, teaching, and service that meets the criteria for appointment at the rank of full professor on the educator or tenure track;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster collaborative communication among faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community stakeholders;
- Leadership that fosters a culture of collaboration, inclusion, ongoing learning, and positivity among students, faculty, staff, and community partners;
- Three to five years of administrative experience, including sound fiscal management; interest and proficiency in faculty and staff development and mentoring; experience with curriculum development and implementation; and proficiency with educational technology;
- A demonstrated commitment to supporting efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Advocacy of policies and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the academic community;
- Knowledge of scholarly research activities, including the pursuance and management of external funding;
- Knowledge of a CSD clinical education program, including a verifiable understanding of program requirements, knowledge of the innerworkings of an on-campus clinic, and aptitude for supporting clinical faculty, supervisors, and staff;
- Familiarity with national accreditation standards and procedures relevant to a CSD program.
- Demonstrated experience operating a clinical training facility
