We invite you to apply to be a part of our University community!Job DescriptionThe Clinical Coordinator/Instructor will be responsible to carry out clinical coordination for student internships in the Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program. The successful candidate will assist in the accreditation, promotion, and growth of the MLS program. They will be required to teach courses, laboratory, or lectures as assigned by the Program Director. Additionally, they will be required to act in an advisory role for current and prospective MLS students including mentoring, recruiting, and committee work.Key Responsibilities1. Conduct clinical coordination duties in harmonization with the Program Director.
2. Teach courses, labs, or lectures (traditional and online) in the MLS program as assigned by the MLS Program Director; evaluate student achievement.
3. Assist in assessment of program outcomes and program; accreditation; efforts to improve curricular matters and learning activities across the program.
4. Assist in MLS program recruiting and retention programs and efforts
5. Conduct overall advisory duties for MLS students and prospective MLS students. Answer emails and attend advising sessions and MLS team meetings.
6. Serve on various national, regional, local, and/or university committees.Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Medical Laboratory Science. If BS level, must be willing to obtain MS degree within 4 years of hire
  • ASCP (MLS) certification
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time (non-teaching) MLS clinical laboratory experience
  • Must be willing to do minimal travel to each ISU campus and to perform site visits
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in a NAACLS accredited MLS program
  • Strong microbiology and/or transfusion medicine backgrounds

Salary will be between $60,000 - $67,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
