- Work closely with teachers and other staff members to contribute to the development and implementation of effective safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Act as a key point of contact for students who may require additional support regarding safeguarding concerns.
- Monitor student well-being and behavior, identifying and addressing any signs of distress, vulnerability, or potential safeguarding issues.
- Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide support to students in their academic and personal development, adapting assistance to individual needs.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and activities.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who require additional assistance, adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Provide emotional support to students, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
- Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as necessary to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Stay informed about current safeguarding guidelines and attend relevant training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve your effectiveness in supporting students.
- Experience working with secondary school students in an educational or youth-focused setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
