- Develops designs for sustainable urban drainage systems, storm and foul gravity collection networks, storm and foul rising pumping stations and rising mains, water main distribution pipelines.
- The use of industry standard software models including Microdrainage and HEC-RAS.
- OPW Section 50 Applications and Flood Risk Assessments.
- Road and Pavement design including application of DMRB and DMURS standards.
- Report writing, site inspections and Site suitability assessments.
- Works on a number of projects at one time.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Interrogates and identifies discrepancies in results.
- Coordination with Technicians to produce detail design drawings in an efficient manner.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Management of project-related correspondence
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
- Performs all the tasks necessary to complete design elements for engineering works.
- Can work independently.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in undertaking the hydraulic analysis and design for surface water and foul sewer drainage systems for development projects including catchment analysis and flood risk assessments.
- Experience in designing water supply networks for development projects.
- Experience in overseeing the development of detail designs and the production of documentation including design drawings (where applicable 3D applications) and reports.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary design team, and capable of effectively liaising with architects, planning consultants, and external consultants.
- Experienced in undertaking site inspections, test witnessing and reporting on same, and answering technical RFIs during construction.
- Experience in the supervision of Junior Engineers and Technicians.
- Project Management Skills.
- Fee proposal and bid submission preparation, or input to.
- Experience in using relevant industry-standard software including MicroDrainge InfoDrainage and Civil3D.
- Chartered Engineer or nearing chartered status.
