- Desire to lead the Electrical Engineering group.
- Design of power distribution systems, lighting, and low-voltage systems for our building design projects, as well as production of all plans and specifications associated with that design.
- Make site visits to document existing systems and gather existing owner documentation.
- Develop conceptual designs, select equipment, perform calculations, and prepare design drawings and specifications.
- Ability to lead electrical design from master planning to conceptual design through final contract documents and construction inspections.
- Complete construction phase services such as submittal reviews, periodic site visits, and punch lists.
- Interact closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and plumbing engineers.
- Work with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
- Perform building condition evaluations and prepare reports.
- Electric utility and code enforcement official coordination.
- Perform energy code compliance analysis.
- Work with electrical designer and junior staff for document production support.
- Assist with preparation of proposals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Healthcare codes including NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 99, NFPA 101 and NFPA 110.
- Design experience with Healthcare lighting systems, power systems, life safety systems, security telecommunications systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and MasterSpec.
- Ability to interface with clients and maintain excellent client relations.
- Works well with co-workers in multi-discipline A/E office, with collaboration and team work is key.
- Prefer a minimum of 3+ years of experience in design of hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and medical office buildings.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and South Carolina, or the applicant will immediately apply for a P.E. license in these states.
- Experience designing power distribution systems, including panelboards, switchboards, overcurrent protection, transformers, generators, etc.
- Experience with interior and exterior lighting design.
- Experience with fire alarm, access control, public address, phone/data, and other low-voltage systems design.
- Must be a US citizen and have a valid Driver’s License.
