  • Manage a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants
  • Demonstrate solid veterinary clinical skills and be a role model for the team
  • Facilitate direct or indirect training to department staff. Provide routine assessment of skill level and knowledge
  • Complete monthly schedule and ensure adequate coverage
  • Manage department payroll and staffing costs, to include review and approval of timecards
  • Deliver results in areas of staff development, best practices (SOPs), training, client satisfaction, and safety
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
  • CA RVT license preferred but not required
  • Experienced Veterinary Assistants with leadership skills who are also currently working towards obtaining credentials are encouraged to apply!
