The PowerSchool SIS, Attendance, & Truancy Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) to ensure accurate student data, attendance tracking, and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. This role supports school operations by overseeing attendance policies, monitoring truancy, and providing user training and technical support to staff.Key Responsibilities:PowerSchool System Administration
  • Manage and maintain the PowerSchool SIS platform to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Oversee data entry, security, and updates for student records, attendance, and grading.
  • Implement system updates and troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with IT.
Attendance & Truancy Management
  • Monitor attendance records, identify at-risk students, and enforce attendance policies.
  • Develop and implement truancy intervention strategies in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal attendance regulations.
Data Integrity & Compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely student data reporting for compliance.
  • Generate and analyze reports on attendance, student performance, and demographics.
  • Maintain data security and consistency to prevent errors and unauthorized access.
User Training & Support
  • Provide training and ongoing support to administrators, teachers, and staff.
  • Develop training materials and best practice guidelines for system use.
  • Assist with onboarding and ensuring user proficiency.
Scheduling, Enrollment & Grading
  • Manage course scheduling, student enrollment, and grading configurations.
  • Oversee class rosters, teacher assignments, report card generation, and transcript processing.
System Enhancements & Process Improvements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate processes.
  • Collaborate with school and district leadership to implement system enhancements and integrations.
  • Stay informed on PowerSchool updates and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years managing PowerSchool SIS or a similar system.
  • Skills:
  • Expertise in PowerSchool administration, data management, and truancy intervention.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 education policies and student data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and training abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, and IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PowerSchool certification or SIS administration training.
  • Experience with state and federal student data reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with student enrollment, scheduling, grading, and attendance strategies.
