Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cloud SRE Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about cloud, DevOps and SRE, who wants to influence the future of Arm eco-system through supporting our global engineering groups. Our team operates horizontally across engineering groups to enable efficient execution of high-performance computing simulations and verification workloads in the cloud. As a cloud focussed team, we play a crucial role in supporting a diverse range of engineering users and customers to facilitate successful migrations to the cloud and ensure that workloads are run efficiently and cost-effectively.The role is based in Cambridge head office in the UK which hosts diverse teams from across Arm including Cloud collaborations with major CSPs, development tools, compilers, debuggers, technical communications, and open-source software development.Responsibilities:As an expert Cloud SRE Engineer, you will drive the adoption of cloud technologies and tooling within our platforms. You will play a pivotal role in migrating existing products and solutions to the cloud, staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field. Your responsibilities will involve closely working with stakeholders, domain experts and service operations teams to provide implementation, infrastructure and operational support.Working collaboratively as part of the team, you will develop, validate, and maintain the software stack to ensure our solutions are impactful, resilient, and capable of meeting the diverse needs of Arm’s global engineering team.Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience building and delivering robust, highly available and scalable solutions on Cloud
  • Experience with software build, test and deployment pipelines using DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code and Security
  • Proficient working with one or more Cloud service providers – AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Experience with Docker containers, container management and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Experience with building and fixing cloud-native solutions – such as Serverless
  • Extensive experience with Unix/Linux systems, shell scripts, and open source software
  • Good programming skills using Python or similar programming language for developing and consuming REST APIs, along with excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities
  • Experience in supporting engineers to efficiently run workloads and verifications on the cloud
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
  • Experience migrating workflows from on-premise to cloud services
  • Experience of monitoring, visualization and alerting systems such as Prometheus, Graphite, Tableau and Grafana
  • Good knowledge of high throughput cloud computing systems and cluster management solutions, such as AWS Batch, ECS, EKS/GKE
  • Good understanding of networking concepts such as Private VPCs, Security Groups, NAT Gateways
  • Programming experience with Golang
  • Experience using Python Django framework
  • Experience with NoSQL databases and use cases such as DynamoDB
  • Experience working in SRE model
