Software EngineerYour teamWe're looking for a Software Engineer to join our squad!Now is an exciting time to join the team as we have recently moved into a brand-new area of the Flutter UKI group working on exciting initiatives and experimentation work in the BEN (Brand Enablement) team. We work hard to plan, design and deliver initiatives and strive to give our customers the best experience to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace across the Flutter UKI brands. This includes Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Bet. You’ll work closely with engineers at all levels, as well as QA engineers and analysts to ensure we are delivering high quality solutions to business challenges and requirements.What you’ll doTurn concepts and requirements into highly available web applications and systems using industry standard languages and technologies.Actively participate in solution design and technical considerations.Take ownership for code quality, security and scalability and have an equal grasp of the overall system you are working on and how it meets the needs of the end users, and business objectives.Design new components in such a way that they can be shared horizontally across the other engineering functions.Balance the commercial needs of the business against the ideal technical design, proposing sound phased or tactical implementations where appropriate.Ensuring systems perform well to deliver the best user experience possible is something you consider as part of the normal delivery process.Work with other engineers, as well as technical and non-technical stakeholders to envision, design and deliver industry leading systems, and to set a sustainable forward strategy.How you’ll do itYour front-end engineering skills mean you have a passion for good visual design and well thought out customer experience.You have strong knowledge of front-end technologies as we develop rich and responsive applications, that are performant and stable.You are passionate about engineering quality, and have a good understanding of application performance, browser support and unit testing to ensure we deliver a high-quality user experience.You understand testing practices and can contribute to experimentation strategies for our fast-paced front end.Preact for our code (React experience is fine)Jest & Enzyme to test it.Docker to containerise it.GitHub & Jenkins to build it.What’s on offer£/€1,000 learning fundTwice-yearly bonus (with part of it guaranteed!)Unlimited HolidayPension contribution schemePrivate healthcareHybrid WorkingAccess to thousands of Udemy coursesInvest via the Company Sharesave SchemeAbout Flutter UK & IrelandOur division operates four of the most popular and trusted brands in the market: Sky Betting and Gaming, Tombola, Betfair and Paddy Power.Together the Flutter UK&I brands offer market leading entertainment to millions of customers every single week!
