Strategically the events program is a core element in the delivery of our consumer brand positioning and the engagement of new audiences.The Events Department is responsible for the product development, creative content and commercial success of the annual program, as well as ensuring that events are health and safety compliant and are appropriate for, and sensitive to, the historic locations in which they take place. Our vision is that people will experience the story of England where it really happened.What's more, as part of our charity bringing history to life, you'll be supported and encouraged to share your ideas, inspire others and make a difference to the way England's rich past is experienced.As our Assistant Event Manager, you will:-Assist the Event Manager, in all aspects of planning and execution of the Open to All public events in the West Territory and provide administrative support of the English Heritage event program. The west event territory portfolio includes Kenilworth castle, Stonehenge, Pendennis castle, Beeston Castle and Witley Court.-Attend and manage events as required by the Event Manager-Be part of a team responsible for safety compliance at events run by English Heritage and our partners.-Plan and deliver a series of Member Exclusive Events.-To prepare engaging and comprehensive event programs, timetables and activities - this will include creative writing-Deputise for the Event Manager when required.This role is based in the Bristol office with frequent travel within the territory. A hybrid working arrangement may be consider with a requirement to work from the office for a minimum of 3 days per working week (this pattern may vary in peak event delivery times).The job holder must be capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines. A full driving licence is essential, as is the availability to visit all properties in and outside of the territory. There will be the need to stay away from home on occasion and to work on sites in any weather. The holder must be able to work overnight and at weekends throughout the year. This post may involve accessing high buildings on sites. It is anticipated that the workload for this post will be higher during peak holidays.Previous experience of working in an events environment is essential.
