If you share our ambition for technical perfection and our passion for all things automotive, Faurecia has a career for you.Faurecia is a developer & supplier for vehicle seats, instrument panels, interior trims, electronic devices for vehicle’s cockpits and Advanced Driving Assistance Systems, as well for clean solutions, to all automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers.Our Group Intellectual Property (IP) organization is looking for a Senior Patent Engineer (M/F) with a management role of IP matters for the Business Group Seating. The Group IP team comprises about 40 people localized in France, Germany, United-States, India, China and Japan, including national Patent Attorneys. The IP people working especially on Seating IP matters are in Brières (50Km south of Paris), Hannover, Auburn Hills (Michigan), Shanghai (China) and Pune (India). The Seating IP manager will be located in Brières and will report to the Group IP Director.He/she responsible for delivering the right level of patent services and patent portfolio to the Seating Business Group, as well to advise the business regarding IP matters.He/she validates First Filing decisions according to the IP Group strategy and the Seating BG’s priorities, organizes Patent Committee Meeting to make strategic decisions about patent extensions and portfolio pruning, ensures that Patent Clearance and FTO needs are satisfied at the right level, assess complex and financially risky situations and makes clear recommendation, leads specific tasks agreed with the BG and is responsible for the BG KPIs, portfolio categorization and budget respect.He/she manages the IP staff reporting directly to him/her, allocates work to other IP members and leads cross BGs tasks/projects in cooperation with the IP Group director. He/she requests/provides support from/to IP Law organization as far as needed for the management of the (future) Intellectual Property Rights and Freedom to Operate of the BG.The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • An Engineer Degree or Master's degree in Mechanics and/or Electronics;
  • A strong knowledge in patent laws and procedures in Europe, knowledge about other countries’ Laws is an advantage;
  • The candidate should have a University degree at Intellectual Property, ideally having a Patent Attorney certification;
  • A significant Experience in patent portfolio management and in FTO matters; experience in IP litigations would be a strong advantage;
  • Fluent English is mandatory;
  • Team player with good communication skills, able to work in a multicultural environment.
