OBS Venue Technical Operations Department (VTO) is looking for a dynamic, team oriented and enthusiastic Senior Radio Frequencies Engineer with Broadcasting expertise to coordinate the frequency spectrum allocation and Games time management for all venues and aspects of the Olympic, Paralympic and Youth Olympic Games.
The role of Senior RF Engineer is to ensure the technical delivery of the Host Broadcast for the Olympic and Paralympic Games from the individual Venue locations in the Host City.
The Senior RF Engineer for VTO will coordinate all RF needs for OBS clients and stakeholders for each edition of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, working together with each Organising Committee (OCOG), Senior RF Engineer will ensure the provision and management of all OBS frequency needs for both pre-Games and Games time operations.Responsibilities:
- Planning for OBS Radio Frequency (RF) Spectrum needs across all Venues both pre-Games and Games time.
- Identifying OBS needs with accurate internal reporting including risk analysis of key issues
- Planning and preparation of spectrum requirements and RF testing plans.
- Aggregating and preparing all OBS spectrum requirements
- Occasional location surveying may be required
- Preparing the market Request For Proposal (RFP) for OBS Production needs
- Vendor management during selection process and end of process
- Providing technical advice to decision making parties
- Games time day to day management of Vendors
- Planning and executing surveys of receive sites
- Creating/receiving line drawings for the contribution/distribution of received signalsDesign of the Radio Frequency Switching Centre (RFSC) within the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) as applicable
- Wireless Microphone requirements identification
- PMR requirements identification
- To plan with the OCOG and the Host Country frequency management authorities the spectrum assignment plan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Spectrum definitions, WC; WM; TT; INT; WiFi
- PMR Radio numbers and talk groups, distribution etc
- Creation of the Testing and Tagging schedule and RF Timelines together with the Organising Committee
- Infrastructure installation planning and permissions
- Broadcasting Expertise is a MUST
- Broadcast use of private and commercial 5G networks including QoS negotiations
- Traditional broadcast COFDM systems
- Large scale broadcast project planning including equipment and crewing requirements.
- Commercial negotiations for large scale projects
- Creation of RFPs for large scale projects
- A proven track record of substantial and successful RF broadcasting experience.
- Previous large outdoor multi venue sports events experience a plus
- Track record of successful negotiations with NGO/governmental organisations
- Relevant degree qualification
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and implement integrated systems.
- Efficient communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 & Microsoft SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Smartsheet a plus.
- A driving license is a plus

- May be required to relocate for a period of time to the host city for each Games edition
