It is conveniently located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.Please read more about Finnish sites, innovative work and collaborative colleagues at .How will you make an impact?We are looking for a Technical Writer Intern to join our User Experience team in the Clinical Diagnostics Division R&D organization in Vantaa, Finland. This is a fixed-term position for a year with 60 % working time, but we hope to make the position permanent later. This role offers phenomenal view over a wide range of R&D activities and versatile opportunities to grow as a technical communications professional.This role is for a soon-to-be-graduated student with a passion to grow and develop as a technical writer and make a significant positive impact on society. We operate responsibly and give back to the communities in which we live and work.Our team consists of enthusiastic user interface professionals including usability and user interface designers and technical writers. We work in multidisciplinary project teams for multiple In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical device product lines. Our role is to ensure the desired level of usability on both software and hardware user interface as well as the user documentation. The main working language is English.What will you do?You will receive training to own the following tasks:Build and update user and service manuals and other user documentation, in both structured and unstructured environmentsHandle the overall manual updating processes working closely with project managers, project teams and translation agencyRun document reviews and approvalsPerform other documentation tasks to support project execution and product maintenanceHow will you get here?A final-stage student in an applicable field with studies in e.g., technical communications, English, translation studies or other subject that would provide you a good starting point for a career in technical writingWillingness to learn and develop your skills as a technical writerStrong skills in leading your own workProficient written EnglishTeamwork and communication skillsGood eye for detailWe additionally value familiarity with especially DITA, but we also appreciate experience with Oxygen XML Editor, Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe InDesign. However, you will learn these as a part of the role.
