- Provide learning support for KS3 students in the class as directed by the class teacher.
- Support the Class Teacher with the implementation of academic and SEMH baseline assessments for students.
- Work one-to-one with students or in small groups, according to a programme or planning created and overseen by the class teacher.
- Provide behaviour support for SEMH students in the class and throughout the school as directed by the class teacher or SLT. This includes the appropriate use of physical intervention in line with School Policy if required.
- Understand and follow the 6 Principles of Nurture when interacting with students.
- Potential to provide in person and/or remote support where appropriate for students at their mainstream school, as part of a planned re-integration package.
- Support the class teacher with any administrative tasks, for example printing or photocopying resources, creating displays, organising the classroom, contacting parents etc.
- Support the class teacher to ensure accurate records are maintained of learning and progress, academically and in terms of students’ SEMH progress.
- Ensure that all students feel and are safe in school.
- Follow the Safeguarding Policy properly and completely.
