THE CLIENTThe client is the leader in the Australian and New Zealand collision repair industry and associated auto parts market.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analysing and investigating variances;
  • summarizing data, information, and trends.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual statements by assembling data.
  • Complies with state and federal tax filing requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; advising management on required actions; calculating quarterly estimated tax payments; assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings for external accountants.
  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analysing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
  • Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations.
  • Prepares special reports by studying variances; preparing budgets; developing forecasts.
  • Updates job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Managing filing systems;
  • Developing and implementing new administrative systems, such as record management;
  • Recording office expenditure and managing the budget;
  • Organising the office layout and maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment, having developed a stock list of items held;
  • Ensure all employee records are kept update with all licence details, expiry dates, next of kin, emergency contacts etc.;
  • Overseeing the recruitmentof new staff, sometimes including training and induction;
  • Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload, often by using temping agencies in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer;
  • Carrying out staff appraisals, managing performance, disciplining staff and monitor accuracy;
  • Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output;
  • Promoting staff development and training;
  • Implementing and promoting equality and diversity policy;
  • Writing reports for senior management and delivering presentations;
  • Responding to customer enquiries and complaints;
  • Reviewing and updating health and safety policies and ensuring they are observed;
  • Report to the Chief Executive Officer any testing for electrical equipment and safety devices;
  • Supervise Award compliance for employees;
  • Process Workers Compensation payments, claims and filing of claims and record processing;
  • Manage accounts payable;
  • Manage banking, reconcile credit cards and bank statements;
  • Manage general ledger;
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and Tax requirements for group;
  • Arrange for the distribution of all necessary paperwork for new employees;
  • Ensure all termination processes are followed correctly;
  • Provide necessary support to the Chief Executive Officer;
  • All work allocated by the Chief Executive Officer to be treated with high priority and fullconfidentiality.
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll Tax
  • Undertake financial accounting month end activities such as posting general journals, intercompany eliminations, balance sheet reconciliation preparation.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
