- Encouraging students to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop excellent communication skills through drama activities.
- Organizing and directing school productions, including rehearsals and performances, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback to help them refine their performance techniques.
- Collaborating with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects that integrate drama with other subjects, fostering interdisciplinary learning.
- Planning and leading workshops and extracurricular activities to further engage students with drama outside of regular lessons.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in drama education and using innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- A bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching drama to students at the primary or secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for drama, as well as assessment strategies and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to tailor lessons to different learning styles and abilities.
- Enthusiasm for the arts and a passion for nurturing students' performance skills and love for drama.
