We prefer to hire directly and we will be in touch with our PSL Agencies if this role is eligible for release.We do not accept speculative CVs from agencies, if speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.Mechanical Fitter - EnvironmentPlymouth or ExeterAn opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team at Galliford Try.You will work on our South West Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.Ideally, you will be based in or around the Plymouth or Exeter area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.Reporting to the Site Supervisor/Manager and coordinated by the Project Engineers, you will be responsible for the Mechanical installation/Maintenance on Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Pumping Stations and General industries such as Mines & Quarrying, Environmental Agency facilities and Local Authority infrastructure.It should be noted that this role may require the successful applicant to participate in an 'on-call' rota to provide 'call out' emergency breakdown attendance, fault finding and diagnostics.Day to day, you'll be carrying out installations and maintenance to the required standard and within the required time frame, completing site documentation as required and Red-lining on site 'Issued for Construction' drawings, marking them 'As-Built'.Our Environment Business has entrepreneurism and innovation at its heart. Part of your role as Mechanical Fitter will be to share innovative suggestions and ideas with the Site Supervisor/Manager for improved delivery.It will be your role to check all goods delivered to site are supplied as per order, identifying changes to the works information and reporting to the Site Supervisor/Manager.Our aim is to create and maintain an environment where care for our people and those who work with us is our top priority. You'll be responsible for ensuring that the commercial function within the business unit effectively supports the operational teams in the implementation of health & safety policies.About You:As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be a proactive team player, demonstrating reliability, good time management and communication skills.We are looking for candidates that have a “can do” attitude and will work to find the solutions. Many of our projects are in hard-to-reach places so experience working in confined spaces would be beneficial.Alongside your industrial mechanical installation/maintenance background and an industry applicable ONC/NVQ/City & Guilds; working on site, we'd like you to have your CSCS skills card and City & Guilds Confined Space Training. ECS, SSSTS, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene) and First Aid at Work training are desirable, and we will support you in covering any training needs.We're seeking somebody with demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or wastewater and general industries and knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings and schematicsPower tools and Van are provided, along with career development and overtime opportunitiesYou will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
