- Initial - Ensure all safety and installation procedures are being performed to the quality level stated at the preparatory meeting and in compliance with all contract documents. This inspection should take place within 24 hours of the work commencing.
- Follow-up - Subsequent inspection to ensure that the work is being performed to the quality level stated at the preparatory meeting and in compliance with all contract documents. These inspections should be more frequent if there is a concern regarding the quality of work.
- Review submitted items to determine compliance with all contract documents prior to submitting for approval.
- Monitor and update the Testing Plan to ensure all required testing, including frequency, is being performed for each civil specification section listed in the project documents.
- Produce daily report for notable observations, including subcontractors on site, QC inspections, tests, person-hours, and equipment hours, utilizing Procore tools such as Photos, Daily Log, Observations, and Inspections.
- Compile and review civil subcontractor daily reports to ensure logged activities meet requirements covered during three-phase inspections.
- Coordinate with third-party testing lab to ensure advanced notice is given for upcoming testing requirements and all testing being performed follow project specifications and referenced testing standards.
- Attend all project related meetings from the preconstruction to the closeout phase of the project to determine the owner’s expectations for quality control management.
- Inspect all material deliveries to the project site that are associated with designated scopes of work to confirm the delivered materials match the submitted and approved materials.
- Generate and submit Request for Information (RFIs) that correspond to the collaborative view of the issue that requires additional explanation.
- Update any project documents in Procore that have changed due to a change event and transmit this change to all project personnel for questions.
- Coordinate with Contractor Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent to ensure that all as-built data is accurately recorded electronically and all Procore mark-up/red-lines are updated when a change to the contract documents occurs.
- Prepare ongoing, weekly, and final punch-list with the Project Superintendent, using the Punchlist tool in Procore, and make sure it is assigned to the appropriate party for correction to meet project demands.
- Always interact with all onsite personnel in a professional, courteous, and polite manner.
- Maintain open line of communication with the Owner or Owner’s representative to promote seamless delivery of a quality product to the owner.
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or equivalent (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or at least 5-years heavy-civil construction experience)
- Experience leading and managing quality control for subcontractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Military and Airport badge/pass.
- ACI Field Testing Technician Level I Certification
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level I Certification
- ACI Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician
- Or ability to obtain the above certifications and any other certification requested related to Contract QC within timeframe specified during the interview process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Computer Applications and Adobe PDF is required.
- USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors may be preferred.
- Previous experience on USACE and/or NAVFAC projects is highly preferred.
- Experience with USACE RMS is highly preferred.
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds above your head.
- Be able to walk long distances and stand on your feet for long periods of time.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist throughout the workday and week.
- Be able to work full shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
- Be able to read, hear and understand contract documents and specifications.
- Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks.
- Employee is regularly exposed to common construction hazards.
- Employee must be able to use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals properly.
- Employee is regularly exposed to wet, hot, and humid conditions, high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions.
- Employee is expected to work safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work area.
