Special Educational Needs CoordinatorLocation: LincolnSalary Scale: £100.00 - £180.00 per dayStatus: Full Time, PermanentStart Date: ASAPAbout the Role:GSL Educationare currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Coordinatorto undertake a position at one of our client primary schools in Lincoln. A teacher working with students with special educational needs and mental health needs in primary schools play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students. Seize this chance to influence the next generation's development within GSL's creative and collaborative teaching atmosphere, receiving valuable support along the way.Role of a Special Educational Needs Coordinator:
  • Identify students with special educational needs and coordinate the assessment process.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Provide support and guidance to teachers in adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Monitor the progress of students with SEN and make a adjustments to support plans as necessary.
  • Act as a point of contact for parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and offering advice and support.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to access additional support for students with SEN.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have previous experience working as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator within educational setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEN provision.
