Our Research and Innovation (R&I) Centers in Utrecht (The Netherlands), Singapore (Singapore), and Paris-Saclay (France) span the worlds of our early life and medical nutrition, waters, dairy & plant-based categories.In your role, you will be working as a Senior scientist Gut Microbiota reporting to Director Adult Microbiome & Probiotics. You will be based in Paris-Saclay (Gif-sur-Yvette), working cross functionally with team members from across all three R&I locations.We study interactions between health, nutrition, and the intestinal microbiome during the very early phases of human life as well as adulthood, and we aim to translate our knowledge into new innovations & digital tools that empower all of us to improve health and wellbeing.In your role, you will be responsible to set up and coordinate the roadmap on Gut microbiome for the healthy adult category. Thus, managing external partnerships, running in house experiments and leveraging the knowledge into an innovation pipelines.LES MISSIONSContexte :The Gut Biology & Microbiology department has the mission of leading and operating on subjects related to digestive health and the intestinal microbiota with a focus on the use of probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics. In this department, the « Adult Microbiome & Probiotics » team has the objective to select new Biotics for the Dairy, Plant based and specialized nutrition categories. As such, the Microbiome offers several opportunities to fuel the innovation pipelines of all the Brands.KEY RESPONSABILITIES
  • You have to define key objectives on the topic of Healthy Gut microbiome which are relevant for the company & the Brands and set up a scientific roadmap to reach these objectives.
  • You have to manage & initiate external collaborations with academic teams/ consortium in order to explore & leverage knowledges around healthy individual gut microbiome, its link to nutrition and health.
  • You have to coordinate the in-house laboratory activities related to the gut microbiome (eg. Gut microbiota analysis, commensals growth, preclinical models).
  • You are accountable to develop new engines (Probiotics, fibers and beyond) related to the modulation/optimization of the gut Microbiome in alignment to the brand’s needs.
  • Leveraging the knowledges in Scientific publications (peer-reviewed journals) or communication in international conferences will be part of your mission.

  • Training in Microbiology (PhD or equivalent), you have at least 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of Microbiome & Microbes-Host interactions.
  • Extensive scientific network in its field

  • Fluent in English (C1), French would be a plus.
