ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR-NIGHTSSCOPE OF THE POSITIONWe seek a driven, creative, and resourceful professional to join our operations team. As an Assistant Production Supervisor, you will help support the shift supervisor. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing product specifications, employee training & assisting as needed in the production process. In this role, the assistant supervisor will gain valuable knowledge and experience needed to become an effective manager of our production teams. We look for this individual to have a high understanding of the manufacturing process so that their team can achieve its goal of manufacturing world-class white oak barrels for our customers.Compensation: Base salary plus bonuses: $56,000-$88,0000DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist or lead production teams to meet safety, productivity, and quality goals
  • Participate in pre-shift huddles
  • Assist and support continuous improvement goals.
  • Learn and gain experience with the various production roles and processes.
  • Document incident, disciplinary action, and accident/injury reports when needed.
  • Assist in developing job procedures.
  • Inspect material for quality defects.
  • Work with the HR Generalist to staff the production line with full-time employees as needed.
  • Assist in the training of new team members. Develop a training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are trained properly in any area that they are assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: High School diploma is required. A four-year college or technical degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Technical leadership and management
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with others.
  • You should be organized and have the ability to handle and prioritize different projects.
  • Good team skills and ability to work in a dynamic, multi-functional environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possess a working knowledge of shop math and basic engineering and business calculations.
  • Able to deal with mid-management or executive-level contacts.
  • Attendance in good standing- No write-ups
  • Track record of good safety habits
