As we are fully embarking on our transformation, we are looking for a Data Scientist who can bring data-driven decision-making and consumer-centricity to the table to support our transition to smoke-free future in Hungary.
During your day you will:
- Utilize your analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
- Use this information to develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges that will support our product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights from analyzing company data.
- After interpreting the data, present the results clearly and concisely.
- Help the organization enable data-driven decision-making by creating custom models or prototypes from trends or patterns.
- You will be working with various stakeholders and functional teams.
- Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources
- Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
- Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms
- Presenting results in a clear manner
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
- Programming Skills - knowledge of statistical programming languages like Python, and database query languages like SQL are desirable.
- Statistics - Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
- Strong Math Skills (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra) - understanding the fundamentals of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra is important as they form the basis of a lot of predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques.
- Machine Learning - good knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.
- Data Wrangling - proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of our job.
- Experience with Data Visualization Tools is a plus.
- Excellent Communication Skills - it is incredibly important to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Fluent in both Hungarian and English
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Science (min. 3 years hands-on for Data Scientist Senior) and/or Data or CRM analytics role
