Our client, a fully-integrated producer, packer, and marketer in the Food Production sector located in the Citrusdal Valley, Western Cape, is seeking a dedicated Irrigation Technician to join their team. This pivotal role revolves around providing crucial support and maintenance for water systems, recognizing that the effectiveness of irrigation is paramount for overall production excellence.Minimum Requirements:

3-5 years of hands-on experience with irrigation in agriculture
A commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Ability to swiftly address emergencies
Relevant and demonstrable experience, ideally with some water management knowledge
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A collaborative spirit, with a readiness to excel within a team environment
Self-motivated, resilient, and humble

Duties and Responsibilities:As an Irrigation Technician, you'll be tasked with a range of duties aimed at ensuring the reliability and functionality of the irrigation system. Your responsibilities will encompass:

Installation of Hardware
Inspection of Pumphouses and Infield Components
Performing Scheduled Maintenance
Providing Support and Training to Operators
Troubleshooting Issues
Conducting Repairs during Breakdowns
Calibrating Sensors

These responsibilities will span across various areas, including:

Hardware:

Pipes, Valves, Filters, Flow meters, Pumps, Seals, etc.
Automation:

Radios, Basic Mottech systems, Solenoids, etc.
Electrical:

Motors, Basic Variable Speed Drives (VSD's), Contactors, Breakers, etc.

Salary is market related.
