- Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching up to A Level depending on experience and qualifications.
- Plan and deliver engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that cater to a highly able and motivated student body.
- Use a range of innovative teaching methods and resources, including fieldwork, GIS, debates, and multimedia presentations, to bring Geography to life for students.
- Assess student progress, set challenging targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys and stretch the most able students.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Geography curriculum remains at the forefront of educational best practice.
- Foster a love of Geography in students, encouraging them to explore the world around them, develop their geographical skills, and become informed and responsible global citizens.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to maintain our high standards of teaching and learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Geography education.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as Geography clubs, field trips, and Model United Nations.
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Geography, with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Geography and a commitment to inspiring and challenging high-achieving students.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a highly able student body.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Geography and relevant examination specifications, with experience of preparing students for high-stakes examinations.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
