- Reviewing global software products and providing practical legal risk analyses, mitigation strategies, and client facing terms for those products.
- Working with the Operations Business teams to evaluate the technology related to Operations Business offerings including reviewing inbound technology and data supply templates/agreements and outbound or client facing templates in different geographies, industries and regulatory environments.
- Collaborative working with the Operations Business teams to evaluate and prepare new offerings for market, with varying deal structures that may include managed services, consulting services, software as a service, licensed software (including mobile apps), and third party data in different geographies, industries and regulatory environments.
- Learning and understanding the technology and uses of data related to the offerings well enough to prepare templates/agreements.
- Developing clear communication messages, guidance, templates and trainings regarding the components of offerings and services for sales and go to market teams, offering development teams, technical teams and the rest of the Legal organization on how to bring software products and offerings to market in a legally compliant and strategic manner.
- Reviewing and understanding complex alliance and vendor technology transaction agreements and advising internal procurement professionals on preferred positions.
- Taking on assignments as required by the designated Legal Lead.
- JD degree or equivalent degree or legal qualification.
- Admitted to the bar (or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law. An understanding of contracting under US law for a global corporation is preferred.
- 4+ years’ legal experience of relevant attorney work, including:
- Functional understanding of legal issues related to bringing software products to market in a legally compliant manner, including offerings utilizing machine learning, third party data.
- Technology transactional experience either in drafting and negotiating technology focused client facing and/or vendor facing agreements, in a law firm or in a fast-paced in-house legal department.
- Working knowledge of: (a) data and security privacy issues; (b) IP law; (c) open source licensing; and (d) general product development considerations.
- Risk analysis, appreciation, prioritization, and management.
- It is preferred that candidates would have:
- In-house experience
- Interest in technology and particularly in new technologies such as artificial intelligence
- Experience of training other lawyers
- Product liability knowledge
