- A full and valid driving licence, and a willingness to undertake and pass a Kirklees Council driving assessment, or ability to use public transport, which ever method is most appropriate and cost effective.
- High level of communication skills both written and verbal.
- Leading and managing the team to deliver the street lighting service including managing budgets and resources.
- Leading the preparation of street lighting and electrical design.
- Undertaking the relevant duty holder's role under the Construction Regulations 2015, in particular, Designer / Principal Designer.
- Preparing estimates, technical reports, feasibility, studies, design specification and contact documents, and carry out Project management to include programming and cost monitoring.
- Preparing and producing environmental Impact awareness reports, economic assessment and business cases.
- Contributing to compliance with the Quality Management Systems including site specific audits.
- Managing and delivering the LED capital investment programme and monitoring and reporting on the associated Salix funding grant.
- Working on a daily basis with Councillors, MP's and other stakeholders ensuring a prompt and comprehensive response.
- Engaging with clients, external partners, the councils internal construction team, Northern Power Grid and sub-contractors to provide and ensure a high quality service and performance.
- Managing the day to day street lighting inventory ensuring timely and accurate updates of the inventory so as to reflect energy savings and reduction of the carbon footprint.
- Managing and monitoring the street lighting energy budget.
- Being responsible for the wellbeing of yourself and others.
