Job Description:IntroductionAt ArcelorMittal Belgium, we are developing the Green Primary project that entails the replacement of one blast furnace, by a Direct Reduced Iron plant (DRI) and two Electrical Arc furnaces to be able to produce almost half of our current production through a more sustainable production route.This project must enable a reduction of CO2 emissions by almost 30% compared to 2018 and must enable ArcelorMittal Belgium to go to zero emissions by 2050.What are we looking for?We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee this large-scale endeavour that involves the development of a new 400 kilovolt power supply and its transformation into multiple voltage levels (150 kV, 36 kV, 30 kV, 6 kV) and the related electricity grids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver successful outcomes within budget and schedule constraints and all this preferably in the field of major electrical infrastructure projects. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the execution and completion of these substantial initiatives while ensuring effective collaboration and communication across project teams.What does the job entail?
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the high voltage electrical project within the Green Primary project
Develop comprehensive project plans that encompass risk management, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and change management strategies.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technical, electrical, and operational experts, to ensure project goals are met and challenges are proactively addressed.
Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria in line with organizational goals.
Provide strong leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Establish and manage project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, providing regular progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Identify and mitigate potential risks, issues, and bottlenecks to ensure smooth project execution.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement to secure necessary resources for project success.
Champion process improvements and the adoption of best practices to optimize project management efficiency in the context of high voltage electrical projects.
Are you the right candidate?
Master's degree in electrical engineering, project management, or a related field.
PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale electrical projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive project success.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on delivering results within electrical engineering constraints.
Experience managing projects with substantial budgets.
