This team member will manage a portfolio of logistics contracts across key sub-categories such as Road Transportation, Air and Marine (bulk & freight), Logistics IT Services, Fuel, Water & Waste Disposal; and Materials Management contracts across key sub-categories such as Warehousing services and supply of parts and materials. The materials supply includes parts required for routine maintenance and operations of the gas processing plants and other materials used by Drilling and Completions and infrastructure construction projects.To be successful in this role, this team member will develop collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders including operational delivery leads in logistics, materials management, Health and Safety, and other contracting and procurement teams. Currently Shell Canada Upstream business is using outsourced solution for Logistics and Warehouse operations. The successful candidate will ideally have strong post award contract management capabilities to ensure outsourced solutions deliver value across dimensions in HSSE, service responsiveness to new operational requests including defining and managing service KPIs and delivering continuous improvement.Given the Supply Chain team in Canada operates a lean resourcing model, this team member may also be given the opportunity to take on additional work scope as they progress in the role. This may include contracting strategy development and commercial support for Drilling and Completions, and Infrastructure projects. This team currently supports a hybrid work model, where employees have the flexibility to work 3 days a week in the office with the option to work the remaining days of the week remotely if desired.The CIG business provides global access to Western Canada’s abundant, low cost, low carbon natural gas developed at world leading social and environmental standards. The creation of this new value chain will link existing Shell Canada’s upstream gas supply and 3rd party gas-fields to global markets through Canada’s first large scale LNG export facility (LNG Canada), extending Shell’s position as the world’s leading independent producer, marketer, and trader of liquified natural gas (LNG).This team member will manage the E2E execution of the Category Management & Contracting Process (CMCP) for the assigned contract portfolio, collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to maximize value delivery in pre and post award phase while ensuring Health & Safety, Security of Supply, Operational and License to operate goals are achieved.Canada IGU MSC Team Mission Statement: Provide Supply Chain (SC) solutions to ensure fulfillment of goods and services through innovation, integration, and lean methodologies in collaboration with Canada Upstream Wells Delivery, Projects, and Production teams to deliver HSSE, operations and commercial excellence to improve the bottom line and Supply Chain integrated value delivery in relation to Managed Supply Chain contracts.The Canada IGU Supply Chain environment is highly dynamic both in terms of supplier landscape, activity, price levels and security of supply. This requires regular adjustment of supply chain strategy and commercial tactics, based on a sound market understanding, to ensure sustained competitiveness across the market cycles and will be key to success.Accountabilities:Proactively identify and understand commercial/business needs from internal stakeholders and collaboratively propose competitive solutions; constructively challenging the Business Demand and/or Procurement Practices to drive value and efficiency for the organizationDevelop commercially competitive and resilient contracting and procurement strategies for assigned key spend categories which actively support Shell Canada’s Upstream Asset GoalsDeliver RFPs and other go to market strategies, evaluate bids and drive negotiations with suppliers in accordance with the CMCP best practicesEnsure delivery and effectively manage contracts while continuously driving value improvement initiativesIdentify, develop and implement supply chain improvement opportunitiesEnsure Supply Chain Strategy supports no SIF (no Serious Injury or Fatality) aspiration through implementation of fit for purpose Contractor HSSE Management plans and alignment to Shell’s personal and process safety focus areasSupport refresh of Manage Supply Chain strategy for Canada in collaboration with the Delivery Manager with a focus on demand and capacity planningDevelop and effectively deliver material supply strategy to enhance value to the production by reducing unit and contract management cost, material lead times, and working capital in inventoryManage Supplier Relationship effectively and collaboratively, drive continuous performance improvement via relevant contract key metrics (e.g.: Health and Safety, Environment, Total Service Costs, service delivery issues); constructively challenging the Suppliers in terms of the contract delivery and performanceSupport the integration of Shell’s and warehouse service provider’s SAP S/4 Hana systems for seamless data exchange and availability, and other automation efforts that are currently being worked with the strategic suppliersEnsure strong connect across the wider Contracting and Procurement (CP) organization to ensure continuous cross sharing and leveraging best practicesEnsure application of Shell’s Contracting and Procurement processes, using commercial judgement, common sense, and a simplification mindset, understanding the difference between non-negotiable compliance elements (Safety, Ethics and Compliance, Code of Conduct, Law) and CP operating practices, while always keeping enterprise business value in focusSkills & RequirementsMust have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerMinimum 5+ years of relevant experience in similar role; Contract and Procurement experience is requiredExperience in post award contract management with a continuous improvement and simplification mindset is requiredDemonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders to develop competitive and resilient Supply Chains, which deliver on the business goal while ensuring that underlying supply chain processes are set up to ensure successCommercial curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex dealsProven experience in contract negotiations and complex RFP evaluationUnderstanding of strategic, operational, legal, finance, safety standards and processes and commercial issuesBackground in Material Management & Logistic Operations including commercial understanding of trade and compliance, shipping terms and IRM requirements are preferredExperience using SAP (S4HANA) especially the purchasing modules and Ariba cockpit is desired-DISCLAIMER: Please note: We occasionally amend or withdraw Shell jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date.
